heidi levine is an american photojournalist who began her career with the ap in the middle east in 1983. what was intended to be a one-year experience in the region has become half a lifetime spent focusing on the israeli-palestine conflict and covering multiple other stories in the middle east and beyond. heidiís work has appeared in publications across the globe, such as stern, paris match, newsweek, time, the sunday times magazine, the new york times magazine and many others. she has received several awards including the picture of the year international (2012) and the festival international du scoop et du journalism (1997, 2006). heidi has been with french photo agency sipa press since 1993. she is based in the middle east and has recently been covering the arab spring.
